Derek Uddenberg P.Eng., FS Eng.

Vice President - Systems, Senior Design Engineer

Derek Uddenberg is Vice President of Systems Engineering at PBX Engineering, overseeing the Integrated Systems, Integrated Security, and Network Systems business units. He directs operations and strategic development for these groups while providing mentorship and support to ensure seamless delivery of complex technology solutions, physical security systems, and critical infrastructure networks.

Mr. Uddenberg combines many years of experience as a Red Seal electrician and a professional electrical engineer covering both operational roles in industrial maintenance and project leadership roles across embedded systems, industrial facilities, and passenger ropeway environments. His expertise spans power distribution networks and control systems, from operational safety procedure development to system design, procurement, installation oversight, and commissioning. Notably experienced with passenger ropeway systems across Canada and the U.S., Mr. Uddenberg has contributed actively for 10 years as a voting member of the CSA Z98 Passenger Ropeway Committee and in an advisory role for section 58 of the CSA C22.1 Canadian Electrical Code.
