Ian Steele is President of PBX Engineering, overseeing operations and strategic direction across all business units. A hands-on leader, Ian remains actively engaged in technical ITS projects while providing mentorship and guidance to business unit leaders, ensuring PBX delivers integrated, client-focused solutions across automation, buildings, industrial, security, transportation, municipal utilities, and network systems.
Known for innovative problem-solving, strong communications, and long-standing industry connections, Mr. Steele brings nearly three decades experience effectively leading multidisciplinary teams on high-profile Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), transportation, security, and industrial projects across North America. He served as the CEO & Chair of ITS Canada for seven years, represented ITS Canada on TAC’s Technology and Chief Engineers' Councils, and is the current Chair of the ACEC-BC Board of Directors. Mr. Steele has been with PBX since 1998, serving as President since 2014. He has overseen the company’s exciting growth, from a small startup to an industry-leading, award-winning firm known for technical excellence.
